Mechanical Ventilation & Heat Recovery
What is MVHR?
Mechanical Ventilation and Heat Recovery (MVHR) systems provide a continuous supply of fresh, filtered air while removing stale air from your property. The system works by extracting warm, moist air from rooms such as kitchens, bathrooms, and utility areas, while simultaneously supplying fresh air into living spaces like bedrooms and living rooms.
Before the stale air is expelled outside, the MVHR unit passes it through a heat exchanger, which captures the heat from the outgoing air and transfers it to the incoming fresh air. This means your home receives fresh, pre-warmed air without losing valuable heat.
Key Benefits
Improved Air Quality – Continuous fresh air helps remove pollutants, allergens, and stale air from the home.
Energy Efficiency – Heat recovery reduces heat loss and helps lower heating costs.
Reduced Condensation and Damp – Extracts moisture from kitchens and bathrooms, helping prevent mould growth.
Comfortable Indoor Environment – Maintains a steady supply of fresh, filtered air throughout the property.
MVHR systems are particularly effective in modern airtight homes, where natural ventilation is limited. By combining ventilation with heat recovery, they help maintain a healthy, energy-efficient living environment all year round.
